Mobile Servicing

Maintenance on your placement, where the units live.

Included with your placement

The shop comes to the unit

Maintenance is part of the package, not a separate business. If servicing is in your agreement, the unit does not go to a shop — the shop comes to the unit. Yard, depot, job site or an employee’s driveway, whichever is where the vehicle actually sits.

The work is carried out by GW Fleet & Mobile, GruMac’s fleet shop in Etobicoke. Certified technicians, the diagnostic gear and the parts arrive at your location in a fully equipped mobile unit, rather than your vehicle arriving at theirs.

That keeps the arrangement simple. One agreement covers the unit and its upkeep, and there is no second vendor for your people to manage.

What gets done on site

Routine work, and most of what goes wrong between routine visits, handled where your placed units are parked.

  • Inspections and diagnostics

GW’s technicians run the inspection and the system scans where the unit is parked, on demand or on the schedule in your agreement.

  • Preventative maintenance

Oil changes — conventional, synthetic and European formulas — along with fluid top-ups, filter replacements and spark plug service.

  • Repairs and batteries

A unit that will not start is boosted or takes a new battery on the spot. Belts, hoses, sensors and electrical faults are handled in place rather than booked in.

GW sends a digital report after every visit covering the work done and the inspection that went with it, and books the next one around your schedule before the technician leaves. None of it asks your people to stop what they are doing.

Tires, both seasons

Two changeovers (and storage if needed) a year across every unit can be a daunting task to manage. We manage hundreds and hundreds of seasonal tire swaps for our customers and would love to help you manage yours too.

On-site changeover

The mobile unit arrives at the yard, the office or the job site and swaps the set there. On-rim or off-rim, on vans, pickups and commercial trucks.

Balancing and inspection

Every change carries a tread depth measurement, a valve stem check, a visual safety inspection and precision balancing before the wheel goes back on.

Storage between seasons

The off-season set is held at GW’s facility and tagged to the vehicle it came off, with pickup and delivery, so nothing stacks up in your yard.

Seasonal changeover is included with your placement at competitive pricing, and every set stays tagged to the vehicle it came off.

When it can’t be done where it sits

Some jobs need a lift, a bay, or a tool that does not travel. When one of your placed units needs that, it does not become your problem to solve.

Towed in

When a placed unit cannot be repaired where it stands, GW moves it. GW owns its tow trucks, so the recovery is scheduled rather than brokered out: light and medium duty flatbed across the GTA, including a placed forklift, skid steer, compressor or generator that was never going to drive itself anywhere.

Into the shop

Jobs that need a lift, a bay or tooling that does not travel go to GW’s Etobicoke facility, and the unit comes back. Engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air conditioning, heavy truck work, and tire and rim services down to refinishing.

Why it matters

Raise your hand if you feel like there isn’t enough time in the day.

A vehicle off the road for a service appointment is a vehicle not doing the job. The units get serviced where they sit, which means your people stay on task and your equipment stays in service.
